EVAN PARKER soprano- & tenorsaxophone (Evan Parker's website)

UWE OBERG piano
The German pianist Uwe Oberg (*1962, Offenbach) plays music at the intersection of jazz and new improvised music.
He plays in various musical contexts: as a soloist he bends the bow from inside-piano to the music of Monk or originals. In the duet with Evan Parker it's free improvisation, in his own trio/quartett Oberg plays original and other compositions - whatever he plays, he transforms in his unique, twinkling sound without musical borders.
He played with numerous international musicians: Peter Kowald, Xu Fengxia, Alfred Harth, Matthias Schubert, Baby Sommer, Tony Oxley, Sven-Ake Johansson, Rudi Mahall, Urs Leimgruber, Saadet Türköz, Heinz Sauer, Subroto Roy Chaudhuri, Paul Lovens, Eric Plandé, Evan Parker, Paul Rogers, Frank Gratkowski a.m.o. Also he works with dancers, composes and performs music for theatre and silent films. His music is documented on many CDs.
In 2007 he received the jazzprize of the state of Hessen/Germany.

(...) everything he touches becomes informed and intensified. [ ART LANGE / CHICAGO ]
"...a remarkable musician, who has developed an unique sound as an free improvising sound-explorer as well as a Jazz-improvisor".
[ PETER NIKLAS WILSON ]
