CINEMUSICSince 1989 Oberg works for the German Filmmuseum Frankfurt and the German Filminsitut in Wiesbaden. Through the years
he accompanied most of the important silent films and has become a film-pianist in demand. His music is based on
live-improvisation, he creates an independent music rooted in Jazz and Contemporary Music, which includes extraordinary
sounds derived from advanced piano-techniques, like playing on prepared strings etc.
Oberg mostly plays solo for films, but there also has been collaborations with other musicians like Wolfgang Schliemann,
C.L. Huebsch, Paul Hubweber, Alfred Harth, Rudi Mahall, Xu Fengxia, Luigi Archetti, an electro-acoustic duo with Uli Boettcher
and his CINEMUSIC ENSEMBLE with Christof Thewes (trombone) and Joerg Fischer (drums & percussion).
“Oberg is one of the most interesting free pianists of the younger generation.” [MICHAEL RIETH, FRANKFURTER RUNDSCHAU]
In 2006 he wrote a new music for "THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI".
Soundfiles:-Caligari 1--Caligari 2--Caligari 3

SOME REVIEWS
...exitingly Oberg coloured the dark and scary moods of the film and therefore intensified the funnymoments perfectly...

...Obergs piano, his playing on the strings, the plucked passages condense with the electronic sonority to an unique collage,
